Matlab scripts

  • On September 12th, 2008, my script tts.m (the name stands for text-to-speech) was chosen as the "Pick of the Week" in the Mathworks File Exchange Blog.
  • Stereoview is a MatlabŪ script for the stereoscopic visualization of any 3D plot.

Here is a screenshot of the version 5.0:

The plot is taken from the MatlabŪ exempla; my script is able to draw it in a stereoscopic pair.

You can download the last version of the script here: Stereoview.

Some notes about various physics arguments. I've written or collected these notes during time, thus exactness is not assured.

PhD Thesis (2003) :

"POLARIZATION AND PHOTOREFRACTIVE GRATINGS IN HYBRID SOL-GEL FILMS" (language: italian)

Qui Relazioni del lavoro di dottorato per l'anno 2000/01 (ITA).

Graduate Thesis (1999) :

"DR1 DOPED HYBRID SOL-GEL FILMS: PHOTOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF THE DYE, PHOTOINDUCED BIREFRINGENCE AND HOLOGRAPHIC GRATINGS"  (language: italian)

My thesis is involved with the study of thin films based on ORganically MOdified SILanes (ormosils) and pure silica and doped with the azo-dye Disperse Red 1. The study consists in:

  • a Raman characterization of the dye,
  • a series of measurements of the birefringence photoinduced on the samples,
  • the creation of transient and permanent holographic gratings in the thin films.
